I agree with that. I know it's probably not the correct psychoanalytical definition, but I have always thought of the ego as the spoilt child in me, having a tantrum; the part of me that says, 'Gimme, gimme, gimme', 'I'm right and you're wrong', 'Only I count, nothing else'.
If you feed it enough, you may turn into some kind of power-mad dictator.
