I pretty much look at it as cells working together. That's what animates us. Millions of years of evolution has lead us to this point. It was bound to happen that one species would eventually rule supreme and that's where were at. Looking at the universe in the present moment, it would appear to be too complex to be an accident. Stretch it out over billions of years and extremely slow and accidental events add up into something. We, as a species could have just as easily died out with 99% of other species and something else would've eventually fluked out.
That's just my take.
