I never found the book appealing because the entire message seems to be that you aren't entitled to a life without change, and I don't need to read 150 pages talking about that.
Maybe the similarity to the idea of the "rat race" was intentional, to connect with readers who saw themselves as trapped. If they can identify with the stories in the book, it might have mroe of an impact on them.
Are there any higher-quality books on dealing with change?
