Quitting TV is the best thing I even did.
The funny thing is, I find the more I 'abstain' from TV viewing, the more sensitive I am to TV's negative effects whenever it's switched on and I'm in the room. For example, my parents watch a fair amount of TV, so in order to have some social interaction with them, it's necessary to brave some of rubbish they happen to be watching at the time. And I honestly struggle to be in the same room as that thing.
