You can say that first we think we victims of circumstance, then we realize we really are in control of our own thoughts and actions. I also agree that once we find the connection between our inner self, we will better understand the outer world. But we did not construct this world we live in, the Seen and the Unseen. We realize we are it, we are a part of it, and we have some control of it. But not "omni-control" or omniscience.
