The term did not come from Biology.
Humans enjoy complexity, it is entertaining - so if you want to write a whole book about this subject; that to me is summed up with one or two words (as I mentioned in an earlier post,) then go ahead.
If this thread has at all been followed - it has been stated clearly and repetitively that 'Alpha Male' is being referred to in a positive manner. It is not the word we are necessarily talking about - but the concept.
Discuss the concept and not your feelings about the word - it obviously doesn't matter since as far as I can tell the concept has been represented in a positive manner.
By the way, what is wrong with cowboys?
