First I do not believe that we can associate "Indigenous Americans, Australians, and many other Indigenous Peoples" with "homeless men, woman and children."
As far as I know... most indigenous people have followed our lifestyle... though I am far from being knowledgeable on that matter... So, I would tend to think that they have advanced...
As far as the homeless are concerned... I don't have a clue...
