Two sides to one coin. Individuality is the key defining attribute of an Alpha male; deliberate action that has a volition behind it rooted not in fear but in aspiration.
The other side should be obvious.
I suppose the term is relative to the dreams you dream, a gardener could be just as Alpha as the man leading a starship to the outer edges of the Galaxy; a bit like happiness I suppose.
