Okay, I need a new job and need it quick, because the place i've been working for over the last 5 years is in deep trouble.

So, I figured i would manifest myself a quick job. I made one phone call, talked to a perfect stranger, and set up my interview for yesterday.

Well, I get there, and the guy starts looking all apologetic before we even got started, so I told him to quit beating around the bush and get to the point.

He says he knows the guy I work for, and he's "afraid" of upsetting him by "stealing" his employeee, as though I'm some kind slave to the guy I work for.

What gives??? I was on cloud 9 yesterday, and today, I feel like crap, because I have to go back to my crappy job, and as of now, have no prospects.



I truly believed that I had this one locked up, because the initial phone interview went so well, and the guy even asked me how soon I could start.

At the moment, it feels like I'm attracting disappointment, when what I'm after is a happier place to go to work each day, and some cash flow.

Because things have gotten so bad where i work, I can't even count on a full days work from one day to the next. Last week, after withholdings for insurance and taxes, my paycheck was actually 5.20, when it should have been over 500.00. I had just enough work to cover taxes and expenses, but nothing left over to live on. This has never happened in my life, and believe me, it's not a good feeling at all.

I know there are lots of other things I can do, and other places to work, but this one was a real let down. I've been in the same field for almost three decades, and it's not easy to just go get an entirely different type of job with no experience.

Needless to say, staying positive isn't exactly easy after this, along with about 4 other things that have gone wrong over the last ten days.

Any thoughts??
