I wasn't aware of the issue, but now that you've brought it up, I am of the opposite opinion. I think the West seriously misunderstands Islam and associates it with something it's not. Personally, I feel it would be a much greater travesty if Obama had gone against those plans.
I'd be happy to discuss this in more detail in another thread though.
