People often choose to be born into poverty stricken or underprivileged households because they serve as a wake up call to strive and do better. How many rich kids do we see do nothing useful with their lives because everything was handed to them on a silver platter? Transmuting your own suffering and your own poor conditions is very helpful on the road to personal development.
Also, if life is a video game metaphorically speaking, would you really want to start out at level 50 with a vault full of gold or start at level one and work your way up?
