There are two scenarios, depending on what you wanna achieve.
Scenario one, if I wanna get my metabolism going and up and ready for the day, I do mornings non-strenuous workout, a quick 15-minute jog and stretches or some 10 to 15 laps is good enough to perk me up.
Scenario two, is at the end of the day where I will push myself with at least a half-hour to one hour cardio workout. Preferably outdoors with half-hour or if the weather is great maybe up to one hour jog/run. Alternate it with same duration swim followed by another half-hour toning in the gym. If the weather is bad as in rain, the runs will be on a treadmill. I find that doing more strenuous workouts in the evenings will allow me to sleep better at night, and when I wake the next morning, I feel great! Not sure if this is the same for others?
These are done about 3 days a week; and are sufficient for me.
