Yep, this about sums it up. The most important quality a person can have is mental toughness. When life puts us in the middle of an unimaginably onerous situation, we all need the ability to look at it in the face and say, "**** you. I'm gonna get what I want out of life, and nothing's gonna stop me."
The second thing I've learned is that there is never a quick fix for anything.
Every time you hear someone say, "Just ten steps to happiness/fame/millions of dollars! It's easy, and fast!", their advice is invariably wrong and/or misleading. There are no shortcuts in life. It's either work as hard as you can and achieve what you want, or sit around on your lazy butt and achieve absolutely nothing. There is no in-between.
