I'm wondering how this works from a mind-over-matter point of view.

Here's my idea:
I was listening to one of Tony Robbins' programs and he talked about how he was really short in high school, but he had a growth spurt and ended up being 6 feet, 7 inches. He later found out that this was due to a tumor on his pituitary gland, which released hormones that caused him to grow so tall. This is also why his hands are huge. (Jack Black called him "banana hands" when Tony had a cameo in the movie Shallow Hal).

So I'm wondering if imagining yourself becoming taller has the same kind of effect, causing the brain to release certain hormones that increase your height.
