Default Random, rubber ducky, semi-offtopic post:

Fairly interesting discussion. I have nothing of value to contribute, but I will note that the thread title reminds me of an amusing quote:

"You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?"

~ The Joker (Jack Nicholson) from the movie, Batman (the 1989 version).

Hehe.

Edit: I will also add this:

It is said in the book, Ask and It Is Given (great book), that there is no source of evil, only a cutting off off the "universal energy flow" (also known as Source, energy, All That Is, Being, God, or anything else you want to label it as). In like manner, you could also say that there is no source of deceit and falsehood, only a lack of connection to "Source".

But this is all largely up to individual interpretation, and I feel your quote and what is said in Ask and It Is Given may actually mean the same thing. Either way, I thought I'd share the "food for thought" for you to munch on.
