Default Taking Technology for Granted

You're literate. No, really. No matter how badly you spell, how excruciatingly absurd your idea of grammar, how miniscule your diction, how few languages you know, let alone dialects... you're literate.

We take that for granted. It's more surprising to find an illiterate. That's a good thing, but like books, pencils, roads, electric lights, and so on: we take them for granted today.
