I've had many clients who just want to lean up a bit more for the beach summer...

Here's how:

Minimize sugar. (any carbs that you have to unwrap to eat)
Consume .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.
Eat lean protein sources and protein powders to get to your
required intake.
Make your carb intake vegetables - more greens the better!
Drink water and no calorie drinks.

Now understand this is a short term deal. When you transition back to "normal" eating, increase your cardio intensity (which you should do anyway) and slowly increase your carb intake.

Continue weight training as well, using bodyweight or free weights/machines.

Keeping glycogen low through lowered sugar intake and resistance training will do the trick!
