He didn't say I was beautiful he called me "my beautiful"

To me that sounds more like he is claiming me as a sort of girlfriend of his or something, not a compliment

Wouldn't you, and your partner be upset or unhappy with it if another guy called you "my beautiful" or "my lady"?
