Aside from dehydration, the fastest mass to lose is muscle, as it has far fewer calories per pound than fat. What this generally means is that with rapid weight loss plans you're mostly losing water and muscle, harming your health and no longer being "toned". It also means that you'll be burning fewer calories afterward (due to having less muscle), and thus put on fat much more easily. Hence yo-yo dieting being the path to obesity. I second Natasha's advice.
