I've lived in Vermont my entire life, so maybe I'm biased, but I'd pick mountains over oceans any day. Beaches are okay I guess, but everything gets all sandy, and I dislike salt water. Besides, if you've never been out on your snowboard at 8 AM with nobody around but you and 3 feet of fresh powder--you don't know what you're missing.
