This is key, especially now that Google has started looking at load times. I use a shared server from HostGator for some of my sites and honestly it's pretty bad in that regard. If something doesn't change I'm going to start referring to them as HostTurtle. I'll have a chat to them about it, though - they've probably oversold that server (like many hosting companies do) and will either have to move my stuff to a different one or just lose me as a customer alltogether.
I also use HostICan, which have been great speedwise. I'll probably get an account through Citrex as well - thanks for the tip!
