How would someone who is filled with self-loathing, for example, look inside himself and find any
positive answer that he'd agree with, and act on?
I truly believe there are some cases where people need the help of others. Some are too far down a self-destructive path to change direction on their own.
As for the rest of us, we also could use an alternative perspective now and then. If all the answers were truly inside us, we'd have no need, nor want, for each other.
The problem lies not in looking to others for answers, but in blindly accepting those answers as the truth.
