I know I have forgone the good ol' expensive cable for a faster internet connection. Not only can I torrent the shows I want to watch later, but if its crucial I see something immediately (and not within 20 mins) I head to the shows website for my quick fix.
As for smart phones, I downgraded mine and went with a phone with less features (can still access youtube) and my bill dropped $60 per month (yes thats right $60).
