You definitely can have all your chakras activated. That will push you towards positive polarity though, since an active heart chakra results in universal love.
Only the negative is characterised by a deactivated chakra.

IMO you can get what you want. All of the stuff I said I personally view as trends and archtypes and themes. Nothing is set in stone, and every specific configuration is unique. The specific configuration of chakra activation that a person has is basically what determines his uniqueness, and each person has their own specific configuation.
The whole polarity trend itself is not axiomatic - it is derived from these energies. Polarity is basically a trend. It's sort of like the relation between the sciences. Biology is based on Chemistry and Chemistry is based on Physics. If we were smart enough, we wouldnt need Biology or Chemistry and we could derive those results directly from Physics. But we use those models because there are certain trends that are repeated over and over and so understanding those trends gives us shortcuts and power.
Science as we know it is basically just a bunch of basal particles and 3 forces determining their interactions. 6 types of quarks, electrons, and like 3 other particles account for all the phenomenon we have documented.
But we still have chemistry and biology because its too complex for our lizard brains to understand the respiratory system in terms of quarks and electroweak forces.
Anyway the entire polarity thing can be likened to biology in that sense, because it's a derived trend which is actually determined by further 1st principles before it, having to do with energy centres. And of course those energy centers are determined as well by deeper principles, and so on.
