I believe you saw 'nothing' because you weren't approaching death...you were just unconscious for a lot of that time. You probably did dream some but you don't remember (maybe because of the drugs you were being given at the time?).
Anyway, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Our consciousness does carry on after we die, and your soul will be helped along in the transition by angels - especially if you ask for their help. Don't doubt what you believe because of the bad situation you were in.
