Procrastination is a very interesting phenomenon, but it my experience I've found that it's all about fear and perceived difficulty. We never procrastinate on the things we like, and never on things that are easy. Also, never on things we know we can accomplish effortlessly. I think the key is to recognize this and to understand why we are anxious about the things we put off.

I have also found that it helps if I am in the company of others, and we make committments to work for set amounts of time.
For when I'm alone and on a computer, I created a simple anti-procrastination application. It tells me to stay focused on a single application and it tracks how much I use things like Facebook, Youtube or email. I set limits and on the good days I actually stick to them. Try my software if you think you'd benefit from it iFocus, and let me know what you think.
