What about getting involved with local professional groups. For example there is BNI, Rotary, kiwanis Club, The Breakfast Club, Toastmasters, PMI etc.
If you like technology try getting involved with local user groups.
If none of the above exists in your community then start your own chapter.
If nothing doesn't interest you then by all means go retail!
