Hello, i know this thread is over 4 years old now, but i would really like to know how JoeBlogs got on with his degree and if he thought it was worth while in the end?

I am in a similar situation myself except im in my first year of a mechanical engineering degree and im already struggling.

I came to uni with a very weak knowledge base from the previous ND in engineering which was absolutely useless.
I dont know whether to retake the next year if i need to, or to quit the degree all together.

Was it worth you completing the degree in the end? do you have a job which you enjoy?

What sort of work is involved in engineering when you leave? at the moment, its all mathematics.
If calculating is all im going to be doing when i leave, ive got to say, im going to be very unhappy with that as a carrer.

But then i think to myself, maybe thats just because i dont know allot of the equations and mathematics, maybe i would enjoy it if i knew what i was doing!

Since very younge ive always had an obsession about how things work, which as partly why i chose this course to do a ND in engineering, which has ultimatly led me on a degree.

But ive also wanted to be a pilot or something which makes me feel self worth (if you know what i mean, rather than stuck at a desk doing maths and not showing my face), something of responsibility is a good way to put it.

Any help, ive read all the above posts and they have all been very helpfull as well.
thanks allot
