Yeah, "yo quiero" is also "I love" . When phrasing the intentions everyone should consider their languages and what works or not for him/her.

I started my "(Yo) quiero" in 1999 or so. I haven't read any book of personal development or intention/manifestation information. Like in music, I'm very self-taught.

English is my third language really, after Spanish and Catalonian.
