Thread title probably isn't the best but I did my average... and the real content is here anyway.

I just read one of dor's post about PATHS being placebo and everything and I thought, would it be even possible to get results from a "placebo machine" if you already know that everything you get is a placebo effect? If someone comes and introduces some gadget to me and tells me that it actually doesn't work, I just have to think that it works and voila, it does, I doubt it would work.

Another thing I just thought... placebo comes from expectation of something good, right? But then again something we have too big expectations... how does this relate to this?
