I'll comment on your questions:
Regarding your first one: It may be that once someone found the answer it is broadcast, like a thought wave or radio frequency, that other kids can pick up on. I don't know if there is science behind that, but that would be my guess.
Regarding your second question: Steve and I refer to that as "reading ahead in the script" as we imagine our lives are being run by a team of writers who write lines for us. Sometimes I say his lines and sometimes he says mine. Sometimes when we're at a loss for words I yell out into the air, "Line?" And sometimes I know what someone else is going to say ahead of time because it feels like I'm just reading ahead in the script. Again, no science here that I'm aware of to back me up, just my experience.
