Had to find a birthday present for my niece's 21st today, had a budget of $50. I decided to go to my favourite crystal shop, all I could think of was Fluorite, found a beautiful point. My daughter was going through a set of crystal cards, asking me if we could buy the set, I told her that this time we were only shopping for her cousin. Just then she cut the cards and pulled out the Fluorite card, so I knew we had the right crystal. It cost $30 so I had another $20 to spend, I decided to look elsewhere but as I was leaving the store, a fairy ornament caught my eye. It was $22, I decided to keep looking and left the store. All I could think about when I left was that ornament, the further I got from the shop the more I thought about it so I went back, telling myself that $2 over budget wasn't a huge blowout. I handed over the $22 and next thing I knew the lovely owner of the shop, handed me back $2! She often rounds down the prices but usually it's under $1.
Being able to stick to budget really bouyed me today, it's small things like this that really make my day.
The owner made a comment when I went back to get the fairy, she said to me "she spoke to you didn't she?", I told her yes and that the further I got away the louder she yelled". A man was looking at the ornaments when I got back there and I am positive he would have chosen this one if I hadn't got it first.  |
