Acne is weird, something that works well for one person will not work at all for another.
I have had flare ups every 3 or 4 years that would last for 3 or 4 months then completely go away 100%. Even in my 30's there was one month in 2001 where a flare up peaked and I looked like a 15 year old. That was incredibly frustrating!

Dermatologist only know 1 option of possible treatments but I had good results with doxycycline. After tetracycline didn't help my doc tried doxy and that plus a benzol peroxide cream was the most effective thing that western medicine could provide.

The worst few months I ever had was at 23yo, nothing helped except waiting it out. At 27 I had a flare up but this time I was into nutrition and the only thing that seemed to make an impact after trying all sorts of healthy eating and vitamins was getting enough omega 3/6.

14G (1T) of flaxseed oil (omega3) plus 1G capsule of primrose oil (omega6)
gives the proper ratio of omega3:6.

Eventually I figured out that MY acne was from being run-down for too long, not enough sleep and too much lifting/cardio over a ~6 month period. The last bad case was cut short by taking a rest week and going to bed early every night.
Every time since then when acne starts getting regular I take time off and make sure to catch up on sleep and it goes away.
