I think you're confusing desire and attachment.
Desire is the feeling that accompanies an unsatisfied state, so a desire is to change something you're not satisfied with. Attachment is different. You're right about LoA, you must believe you already have it, but you can't deny what you've already got which is the unsatisfied state.

If you have no need to control anything, then it's equivalent to you being in control of everything.
Not ony is that a complete contradiction in terms, but it's plain nonsense unless of course you're referring to a belief in God or higher being outside of you, where everything is negated because when something goes your way, you haada part in it, but when things don't work out, it's the higher plan in charge.
