I'm not sure desire actually helps anything. I think holding something in mind will tend to make it manifest (through some complicated quantum-mechanical thought-form condensing process that I have no clue how it works), but desire seems to me to just push it away. LOA suggests that you must act as if you already have what you want. Why would you desire anything if you already have it? Being grateful for it seems good, but desire... ehhh
Releasing control seems to me to be the ultimate form of control, the control of non-control

If you have no need to control anything, then it's equivalent to you being in control of everything.
