Release the desire to control?? Sorry that's not right. Desire is important, it's desperate attachment that stangles flow. Desire is paramount.
Control comes to you unasked??? Nope, wrong again, that's saying that something outside of you is in control.
Giving up control and not having desire are both fear of control and desire. You're afraid you are really in control, but fear that power. As Steve says, you can give up control, but never give up responsibility.

must desire and you
do control all the time, to say otherwise means you believe in something greater than you that has control and that means you ultimately have no control.
That's why they invented religion, to control people who didn't understand their own power or knew they had it but were afraid of it.
