Yes. I think this is what Steve means when he says that both polarities ultimately lead to the same place.
Philosophers have already solved this egoism vs altruism concept. From any relevant, useful perspective there is no such distinction.
You just have to become an expert at on side of the flow to manifest your intentions in the best way. You can either become God or let God become you. It is the same either way.
