This is likewise true -- the astral/celestial realms are theoretically "here", but we don't perceive them, it's as if it's another dimension that we can't see, i.e. 5D.

The physical chakras roughly correlate with the actual chakras in the etheric and causal bodies, in 5D you could say. The physical reality is just the appearance of what really goes on in other realms -- the "eyes" and the "brain" actually don't see anything, it is consciousness itself that sees. An easy proof of this is that your sight stays with you when you are OOBE or astral projecting. The physical body and its chakras are just the effects of a greater spiritual reality.

So anyway, things are just the way they are, especially in the physical world. To answer your question, it's the other way around -- it's the physical body that has some sort of connection with the nonphysical bodies and world Seeking for answers here in the world of effects probably won't do too much good It's all we have to work with, but we can recognize its limitations and work around them with faith and personal experience.

That is originally what I came to believe. That the "locations" were simply a manifestation of "higher activity". Sort of akin to how you might say that a bird doesn't fly because it has wings -- it has wings because it flies. It is the incarnation of "birdness", just like we are incarnation of "humaness". The only problem I have with this concept is when it comes to relating it to some things involving the chakra system. For example, emotions are said to emanate from the heart chakra, yet, in my experience, my emotions are not localized to my heart region as far as I can percieve. I feel them reverberate through my entire being. Same goes for say, my sense of security and survival, said to be located in my root chakra, yet for me, in experience, my sense of security and survival is a purely mental construct that doesn't feel localized to the base of my vertabrae. Or the communication center at the throat. If it was in fact a manifestation of a higher vibratory form maker for communication, why localize in the throat area? One would tend to conclude that telepathy is the most sensible way to communicate in the inter-life.

I guess my problem really extends from the fact that I have always felt that location was part of the illusion. I expect illusions to dissolve the more "form" I shed, so to speak. So the concept of non-physical "form" perplexes me. In stripping away illusions, I find myself wondering as to the actual reality (or un-reality) of chakras. Certainly many people report experiences involving the existence of chakras. Who am I to discount their experience? But if these chakras do represent certain spiritual and physical aspects of our beings, one would still wonder if it would be more efficacious to work on the aspects the energy centers represent, rather than the centers themselves.

For example, if my sexual center were unbalanced, I would search myself to figure out what the imbalance was caused by rather than visualizing the activity as a color at a certain locator along my spine. I guess I'm really on a quest to find out which is more efficacious to change. Certainly I find the notions of energy, chakras, and kundalini fascinating, but I have many reservations. Maybe when I become more clairvoyantly aware, I will percieve something regarding these chakras that will reveal the answers I seek, who knows. I guess I'll just keep experimenting until then.
