I would like to humbly add to Erin's perfect statement that if you can make yourself do it within a dream, acknowledge the entity,color form, whatever it may be that is communicating with you and then say to it, "If you are not here with sole purpose of my well being and good spiritual ascent, you are not welcome."
They have to follow the law and the law states that all spirits, entities, higher beings, lower beings, must always stay true to their nature and when questioned on their purpose, must respond accordingly.
