What is the difference in Will Power and Self Discipline? Where does will power come in and where does self discipline come in?
Do you need will power to create discipline?
I have had great success disciplining myself to create new habits and eliminate some habits also. But am getting confused about the difference between self discipline and will power. I came across Steve's Self Discipline series last year (that's how I found his web site) and have had a lot of success with many of his methods and many methods of my own.
Let's take a hypothetical real estate example for now:
You need to sell one house and you have heard that if you talk to 100 people regarding real estate, at least one person will buy or sell their through you.
So, all you have to do is talk to at least 100 people regarding real estate.
Now, you are very afraid of rejection and can not even imagine yourself talking to strangers.
But you also know that without talking to people, you'll not have money since real estate is 100% commission based.
How do you go about doing this? Do you use will power to get yourself to talk to these people?
How can will power help in this case?
You can say that you will talk to 10 people every day and that would be considered disciplining yourself?
But if you are afraid that means every single day you have to summon up your will power to talk to these people?? |
