Greetings,

To date, I've never revealed my real name online.

Since the first thing you're told about the internet is "never give out your real name", I'm curious why people are doing it so liberally -- and what the advantages or disadvantages are.

For instance, Steve, Erin, Wil Wheaton, and Shaden have all revealed their true names on their blogs...
