As far as I understood this
subjective reality Steve is talking about, those two will both get the thing they want in their own reality. Which is a great thing you must agree, if it were true. And what I also concluded is that Steve doesn't know if its true, but thinking it is true, is making him happier and in control.
(I think I got the theoretic part, its just that making it real for me is a little harder to do.)
