My favorite is Disaster, where everyone is in a fish out of water situation and has to deal with it. Picard gets stuck in the turbolift with 3 kids, Troi is captaining on the bridge, Worf delivers a baby, etc. I thought it was very well done and showed a lot of character growth and development.
My second favorite is Measure of a Man, where Data is put on trial to determine if he is real or has a soul or whatever. Very thought provoking. Well written episode.
