i think this is a reasonable theory. when the ancient Egyptians were around, earth was at a higher rate of vibration (based on my own intuitive understanding/guide convos). it could be they were more in touch with the ether, and designed those hats so they could continue to get as much benefit as possible from that connection.

Thoth would probably agree with your theory. for whatever that's worth...
