Damnation is candy I started out with not liking the deep, harsh vocals of Opeth, but quickly enough discovered that it's one of the most beautiful things in the world..! It's progressive beautiful melodic death metal with a lot of acoustic and jazzy popups. You should check if you can listen a few more seconds to the Blackwater Park album Like, start with The Drapery Falls, it's life changing!

I don't really listen much to Metallica, but I did when I was younger and I still like quite a bit from their older albums
