I grew up around people who were always aware of and studying this sort of thing. I mainly bring it up to people who appear receptive, trying to follow the "when the student is ready ..." approach.

It's easy to be shocked at what's going on, but it's nothing new. It's just more blatant now. The general populace doesn't want war until the rulers convince them of it's necessity. FDR had to allow (or even provoke) the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor so we'd have an excuse to enter WWII.

Look up Operation Northwoods:

ABC News: U.S. Military Wanted to Provoke War With Cuba

"In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities.

The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro."

It's all been done/considered before. Just more common people are becoming aware of it now. It'll be interesting to see how that affects the elite's gameplan. I think that at least some of the conspiracy material is meant to be so overwhelming that people feel they can do nothing about it. A lot of what I've studied could be very depressing if I didn't make an effort to keep my life balanced along the way.
