I listen to mainly rock, especially when I'm thinking up ideas. Bands that get heavy rotatation include: Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick, Doobie Brothers etc. Hmm, there's a strong 70's vibe going on there.
I Love bands that are inventive and like to evolve their style. Sparks seem to be one of the masters of this.
Been listening to a lot of Black Grape recently - love their energy.
Although I don't play myself, I love guitar music of all genres, from rock to classical to jazz, and I totally recommend the wonderful Jimmy Rosenberg - a truly amazing and talented musician.
On the way to the gym and while training, I'm a big fan of Rollins Band, Rage Against the Machine, AC/DC. Tried lifting once while listening to the Jackson Five - it didn't really work.
Late at night I like Jazz, and Classical goes down well at work. Have been known to knock out Barry Manilow tunes at karaoke.
I saw Rodrigo Y Gabriela last week - great stuff!
