Energy – I see energy as effort/ taking action. How much effort/action you put into achieving your result is a measure of how successful you will be. In a competitive sense whoever puts more effort in total towards achieving their goal is likely to come out the victor.

Energy – “Go Hard or Go Home”
Some ways I think you can get more energized than the people around you is through reading motivational/inspiration quotes/stuff
listening to music that gets you amped
eating right, exercising,
being happy, stop thinking and just get going
Knowing you can and constantly overcoming fear and doubts.

Persistence – Easiest example I can think of is two people trying to lose the same amount of weight the quickest. The person who will lose the most weight the quickest will be the person who can resist all temptations the longest. This will also be the person who is the most persistent in their actions/efforts. Until the goal is reached they will be consistent and move forward to achieve their goal no matter how many custard donuts are shoved in their face and other distractions/blows they may receive from life to throw them off track.

To be successfull Both Energy + Persistence must Exist. As there is no point of thinking yourself thin and then wiping the donut jam from your face in front of the T.V. Or in contrast running 1 mph for 5 years instead of putting a bigger effort in eg. Running 2 mph.

Persistence – Quote from Rocky Balboa “No one hits harder than life, but only the strong will take the hit, get up and move on”. I think that sums it up.
Also “No Pain, No Gain” rings true to me.
I think being a pretty good athlete and student you really do have to have a weird junky love for pain if you want to be physically or academically successful. "If you cant handle the heat, get out of the kitchen"

One more post to come.
