I just finished Sam Waltons (Walmart) book.
It is a great read to start. Sam was just another 5 and Dime store in a small town, he improved it, grew, and through hard work got to 5 stores in the area, then improved it some more got it to 15, then was faced with competing well or facing destruction by opposing chains - so he went out and did it better.
