I think you can choose either way. It's just that you'll have tendencies. I could have chosen to be an English major. But I'm naturally really good at math and science, and pretty bad at communication, so it made a lot more sense to choose applied mathematics.

I also don't think creativity is a monopoly of the light side. I think it might be a monopoly of the enlightened/endarkened... the higher-conscious. So you might have to pick one and go for it to truly let your creative genius out.
